Helping an automotive-parts retailer plan stock and orders with data.
My ITB thesis supported an Indonesian small business (UMKM) that made stock decisions manually. I explored how sales and product-search data could make those decisions more informed.
Connect Records to Stock Decisions
Combine sales and product-search records in a daily-updated warehouse, then make forecasts available through dashboards and a stock-information bot.
The business measured and reported a reduction in the entire ordering process from seven working days to a maximum of three hours. The system brought trend reporting and stock planning into one workflow.
Scope & Limitations: The time saving was measured and reported by the business. Reductions in overstock or stockouts were not separately measured. Public screens use fictional items and figures to protect the retailer’s data.
I combined the records in a daily-updated warehouse, evaluated demand forecasts and built five dashboards plus a Telegram stock bot.
